Going the extra mile in business I recently had an opportunity to make a choice regarding my business. I received an email from a cutomer that had not received their order. She was very angry, and wanted to let me know that she would NEVER visit my site agin and would be sure to tell all her friends about my horrible service. I was upset and promptly emailed her to try to rectify the situation. I realized though that she was not receiving my emails. I decided to handwrite a letter to her that included all the emails I had sent, a check for her original order, and a small item. I explained that the item must have been lost by the PO and I was very concerned abou customer service. Low and behold, she emailed me letting me know she received my package and was very apologetic. She commended me on my customer service and even offered to hold the check in case her original item showed up (which it did finally) I could have blown her off but I chose to take the higher road and now I am sure she is mentioning me in glowing terms. Taking care of cutomers above and beyond the call of duty can go a long way.
